| At what rate does it record the obd reading? I personally believe that you need at least 8 channels to record, though the system I've been looking at can have up to 30 channels, the question is can you have to much information ![]() We have a nice piece of equipment available to the Mini community soon, but we have to test it first to make sure that it'll satsify your needs. | Hi mate, I've just emailed them to find out ![]() It records a dedicated non obdii sent wideband o2 sensor, 2 additional sensors, and up to 16 obdii parameters can be recorded at any one time. The unit is quote neat, with great playback of data, and also includes 3 programable warning lights. Cheers, K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

| but what rate in time i.e 0.1of a sec does it record the data, is the time effected by how many items are recorded? First M45 Cooper S to run a 12 (12.96@105) On Nitrous 11.16@123 0-100 7.1991 ![]() http://www.1320MINI.co.uk |

| The data sample rate depends on the vehicle. It can vary between 30 samples a second to 6 samples a second. If the vehicle has CAN bus, DashDyno can read 6 sensors at one time speeding throughput considerably. So if your vehicle has say a 50mS sample rate, with CAN 6x mode on you'd get about 6 sensor values every 50mS (.050 seconds). | I just wish there was something that could monitor everything in real time, log it, and graph it, for those of us who are stat junkies. Its always nice to see historical data and interaction between them. Just did something for a dozen servers at work. Monitors over 400 items in realtime. Great for troubleshooting. From what I have read about the OBDII port on the MINI, its very slow. At least this should be better if you can attach some extra sensors. If you get one Karl, keep us posted please. |

| I logged on a customers car today rpm, boost, IAT, ignition timing, throttle position, kmh and water temp and it could only manage to log on the excel spreedsheet every 1.1secs. For the money its probably be better than nothing though it would be nicer for them to say with a Mini you'll be able to receive this much info per .01 of a sec. Its like most purchases you make for your car you have to see through the marketying and then decide whether its worth taking a gamble or not. | Hmmm. Well, i want tsomething that can log data that is usable. Is it necessary to log more than 1 second at a time for general review data? I assume that if you have an issue with 1 or 2 elements of data then you could just read these two at perhaps 0.25 seconds? As for the external sensors - i wonder if these read realtime? If so, then this may be sufficient - but again, do we really need more than 1 second readouts for general info and alarm indicators? My thoughts of having the 2 additional sensors was to ensure they were very accurate, and not necessarily being available at 0.1 second intervals. So... assuming this tool is not beng used for fine tuning purposes, is it good enough to keep an eye of general engine performance and quality?
