DashDyno SPD ProPack

DashDyno SPD™ combines a scan tool, performance meter and data logger into one, easy-to-use instrument for the automotive enthusiast.
The dynamometer measures horsepower/torque and acceleration times. Results are graphically displayed with zoom and scroll.
The data logger records data from the vehicle diagnostic port, analog inputs, a digital input, and an external GPS or wideband O2 sensor. Recorded data may be viewed directly on DashDyno or using a PC with the included Dyno-Scan for Windows software.
Read and clear the dashboard Check Engine light. Access to thousands of generic and enhanced diagnostic trouble code definitions displayed directly on screen.

I quite like the look of the version that runs on the Palm OS:
Dyno-Scan for Palm

Very swish.

Nice long list but surely that is the maximum available and not what you will get on the MINI?

As with all OBD devices its only as good as the ecu comms.

even if it can scan every second, it does not mean that all the inputs are logged at the same time, and when looking at engines at 6000 rpm a lot can happen in 0.5 of a second!

Also you are reading the cars sensors, how do you know they are correct? eg, if you map sensor is on the way out or reading in accurate how will you know?

The only proper way to datalog is via direct calibrated sensors.

But it get expensive, but its like anything that is used to measure!

Before ordering just check that it will work with the Mini, most unfortunatley cant.

First M45 Cooper S to run a 12 (12.96@105)
On Nitrous 11.16@123 0-100 7.1991
It's not how much you spend but how well you spend it

not yet, i got no reply from my "is it MINI compatible?" email.

:-(

But if it is, then i'll be getting one pronto, and also 4 specific and highly calibrated sensors to cover the 4 most important variables available to the driver to monitor engine safety. The results on a OBDii are only as good as the sensors that provide that data.

Cheers,
K.

Do you think if a few people wanted one we could get a bit of discount for ordering a few?

If you live within Europe and the UK, EOBD (European On-Board Diagnostics) is required. The Dyno-Scan works on EOBD vehicles.
