Manifold

Which manifold is the best for the cooper? I was having another look at the lohens mini one and its sounds great so iv decided to go for a manifold next. I've got the JCW exhaust at the moment so hopefully that will give it a nice note like the lohens one. Just dont no which manifold to go for. Do they make much difference in terms of exhaust note and power? I reckon a £500 manifold would be a far better investment than a £300 chip as every1 seems to say that the chips arnt really worth it on the cooper plus iv got the JCW remap anyways so it would probably be a waste of money so i reckon manifold for the next upgrade. Any advice is appreciated because i dont really have much knowledge on them.

cheers

I had the janspeed manifold on my remaped ONE, with the decat pipe. I only really noticed, faster pick up, and it was quicker higher up the revs. Still good though. With the window down, you can hear the gases rushing through it. Really nice sound

I'd go with milltek. I run it on my S and its great, but as its not mad massive its also very good on the coopers. Would mate up to the JCW soundkit exhaust really well. The Janspeed and GTT manifolds are even better but a touch more expensive and also very large diameter so theres a certain amount of internal lippage when you marry the GTT/Janspeed to a stock cooper/ONE size exhaust or even a JCW soundkit unit.

Just my opinion...but milly is a better option and it retains the CAT (so do gtt and jani but its not worth the bother of the sections for possible de-cat IMO as its actually illegal to not have it in when on the road, despite rumours that its only nessessary for the MOT) in a single section unit.

Don't forget... the Janspeed or GTT manifold has a replaceable CAT so this can save money when it needs replacing, unless you want to purchase a whole manifold for another £500 ?

Cheers,
K.

The Janspeed / Gtt manifold port alignment is the best, it also matches most CNC heads where others dont.

£495 incl vat from us.

OBX is best ratio price/performance.

Supersprint is very good exhaust and the OBX is copy of it. I am very satisfied with it!
