Flow is left to right.....thats from looking at it from the front.

Sounds normal to me! Maybe im missing a sound. The pullies are always really noisy with a slightly metallic sound and the clicking is the injectors. Cant wait to see how mine runs without the SC!

Does the boost gauge read 0 when the engine is off? vacuum looks about right too if not slightly higher than I was expecting. What airfilter are the running and is it clean?

Im still betting boost leak or bypass valve that isnt sealing.

i bought a new airfilter its a ram air induction kit maybe its limiting the air flow couldnt see how though, where is the bypass valve? if i was getting proper boost would my car feel alot quicker?

Here it is : http://www.mini2.com/forum/engine-dr...ass-valve.html

Might be worth a read for you Try pushing back on the valve and make sure it gives plenty of pressure back and is firmly pressed against the grub screw. Also worth winding the screw out a couple of turns and see if the arm follows it. Now test the pressure on the boost gauge at WOT in 3rd Any difference?

Im still betting intercooler

i found the bypass valve... the steel part of it was sat tight to the grub screw wen my engine was off. i pushed it back on the rod part of it and it travelled about 2 mill and i let go and sprung back and hit the grub screw. is there meant to be much travel in this area, does this matter?? or is the idea more to do with the steel part being able to hit the grub screw without sticking between travel?

They are easier than people say pull them over the horns first but pull them right on and then drop the intercooler in and slide them back onto the intercooler. Just be gentle and maybe use sometime like fairy liquid to lube but I think you will have more problems with slippery fingers.

Also do them up reasonably tight but dont clamp them right down unless required as they are usually thicker than the stock boots.

i got the new snoot boots on... i can here more of a pronounced supercharger whine now than before but i get 13 psi wee tiny bit more boost goes up to 14 psi if i floor it in fourth gear but not in 1st 2nd or 3rd gear. i think it might be to do with the by pass valve now not too sure?? pretty miffed

Just wind it out slightly. Even half a turn and see if the butterfly follows it. If it does then yours is adjusted slightly open. I set mine so that the screw is only just stopping the return of the butterfly but not enough to hold it barely open. You can usually turn it with it in place with the short end of an allen key or pliers.

Other than that there must be leak somewhere else or your SC isnt in great shape.

its been a long time since i have read this post but i finally found the leek!!!!!!!!!
it was the RAM AIR induction kit i bought, it is the worst mod ever. i re-installed the stock intercooler and airbox and the boost shot up to 16psi great! i changed the stock intercooler back to the GRS and i can tell you there isnt any noticable difference. contimplating, injectors cam and remap change next and see how that goes. might get a k&n pannel filter.
