Anyone have direct experience of GGR's 200bhp conversion? Apparently it is slightly unusual when compared with others, as it involves a pulley 'slightly bigger' than 15%, together with a bespoke software change.
No colder plugs & no intercooler change but claiming 200bhp all for £699 fitted. Whilst other tuners may be more popular on this site, GGR is just round the corner from me & the convenience of their location is very tempting. Thanks for any info

Richard

Cant speak for the map but a 15% pulley will give the same result whoever installs it 200 is certainly possible. I got nearly 225 with a ported head and 17% pulley on a hot day.

£699 for basically a pulley upgrade is a lot!!! 1320 autos on here could prob do that for a fraction of the cost or just buy the pulley and have a go yourself if you can use tools

I was running 225bhp with 15% pulley and a couple of other parts but the main part for the power was the pulley

GGR have a very very good reputation, no direct experience myself but well thought of in the ford scene.

seems odd on the site that with MINI's the bluefin/pulley 200bhp is £320 but the 200bhp kit is a lot more, suppose it's the labour cost

I thought that it seemed a lot when c/w others but they don't seem very keen to do they pulley without the map. They also feel 15% is a bit small which is not what I wanted to hear as I was considering a 17%.

17% is smaller than 15%

I would stick to 15% and get some cooler plugs (NGK BKR7 EQUP), the Mini ecu will adapt fine but for a proper set up get a custom tune not a generic one

Defo... 15% and some new plugs, 1320 will do it a lot cheaper than GGR.

I know of one person who has had the GGR200 kit fitted, though he had it fitted way back in about 2002/03 when there weren't that many tuning kits available. He then had the GGR240 upgrade fitted about a year later, and has since had other bits from GT Tuning fitted, and has gone past 100,000 miles. Though as others have said there are now better value for money options to choose from than GGR.

If its the same person I'm thinking of Andrew he had the GGR245 - "GGR245 is a very swift drive" ?

Never known him have any major issues with his car - very competent company as far as I'm aware. Although as others have said, the same can almost certainly be achieved for less ££

Yes, it is the same person your thinking of Jon . And your right, it was the 245 upgrade not 240 . He has had one or two problems, but not with the GGR parts.

Good old Max then Well who hasn't had a few probs with their MINIs?

At the time the GGR 245 upgrade really was pushing the boundaries, most of the current folks you'll fine in the tuning section weren't on the MINI scene so heavily back then, but times have evolved, and I don't think GGR have Time to be fair has overtaken them.

less time than to drive from leicester to st neots and back, and with some arm twisting you may get a saturday out of them, always a good thing if you have to struggle to sort holidays

Plan for half a day, i can't remember the specifics, but it's not long.

What size pulley are you going for? I've got a 17% on mine, but i wouldn't want to run in on standard injectors...
