I've finally spoken to the insurance company, told them that it was a cold air intake kit that replaces the original airbox and it doesnt give any performance gains. The main reason I was using it was so it draws in cold air instead of warm which should improve my fuel consumption unlike the standard one.

They were happy with this and said it was fine to put on the car and I'm not going to have to pay any extra on my insurance!!!

Now I can get on with fitting it tonight!!!! ....about time!!!!

HAHA!! Im going to be on a mission, I'm going to fit it and then take it straight down a private road next to my house and see what it sounds like when you wind it up. Unfortunately its only a 1/4 mile straight blast, but if I video it I will post it up.

I'm going to wedge my mobile between the seat and the headrest on the passengers side to get a good angle. It should be amusing, especially if it comes loose!!!! (the phone that is!!!!)

It's Awesome!!!

Well everything went well apart from the clip that hold the hose onto the CAI, it was kinda like a jubilee clip but it was one that snapped into place that wasnt big enough to go over the GTT CAI. So i had to improvise with an old jubilee clip which was far too big as you can see in the pic, but will make do in the short term. Im annoyed as this was the only tricky part.

Thanks to daves instructions it was sooooo easy!!!!

The car sounds awesome and I think the throttle sharpness has improved!??!?!

Nice one matey Didn't need the pizza cutter then

Should be able to cut the excess length off with a pair of sidecutters.

I'm on the lookout for a blue intake pipe for mine to tidy up the engine bay.

Cheers mate!!!

I would cut the excess off but where I do motocross these jubilee clips hold a carbon fibre exhuast guard over the front of the exhaust pipe. I will just buy a nice new shiny one and put this old one back on my bike!!! Another thing to do!!!

What made me laugh is that when I came back from test driving it, I looked at the filter which was covered in tiny bits of black plastic where i drilled the holes!!!!!

Screams so loud...I love it!! Can people hear it outside when the car is going and I'm passing?? Or is it all just internal sound??

I get quite a few head swivelling looks when I stretch the old girls legs, I'm sure people can hear it. You'll have to get Mrs SC to do a drive by for you
