James - Any joy?

Think I must be an ebay master at the moment. Just bought a brand new Alta 2% reduced & lightened crank pulley for £30 That's a massive £90 saving!!!!

Just had a reply from Tony at MINI Motorsport Centre who has quoted me £80 + vat to fit the pulley & belt which I think is quite reasonable after reading the Alta fitting instructions.

As i've now aquired the crank pulley & some Eibachs I might just get them to do the lot. Can drop the misses off shopping in Brighton or Worthing or something

Wahoo YHPM

Right so I have my 15% reduced supercharger pulley, 2% oversized crank pulley, belt & Eibachs to go on the car. Who said saving money can't be fun

Think I might need some NGK Platinum plugs or something before I throw that lot on.

Anything else? Can a remap wait a month? Don't have a bigger intercooler yet either.

you wont need a re-map mate but the best plugs are the jcw spec nkg's they cost but there quite hardy i get mine from here Sparkplugs UK NGK Champion Denso Sparkplug, Glowplug and Lambda Sensors type this code into the part finder BKR7EQUP and obviously you need 4 plugs the price on there is half what mini charge even me with a trade account

Cheers again. I was looking at the BKR6EQUP for around £30 for 4 but I did wonder if they did 7's . Used to run PFR7B's on the Scoob over the PFR6B's as they ran colder.

I'll get some bought

Cheers

Not sure i'd risk it as I know 1st hand the risks of running plugs that aren't cold enough. Melted the end of a spark plug off whilst running a 12 second 1/4 in one of my Subaru's. Cost me £2k in engine building for the sake of an extra £40 on plugs

After everyone saying how much extra heat is generated with a smaller pulley i'm not going to skimp this time.

the NGK irridium range 7s are just as good mate, and all it is is they have a single electrode not the 4 way slit one. The temp range and material is the same, just the electrode design is different. Sparkplugs UK NGK Champion Denso Sparkplug, Glowplug and Lambda Sensors do these for about £30

50k miles on a 15% reduced pulley car running way over 200bhp ... and never had a set with any daage showing or cylinder temp issuies or detonation.

Funny you should say that as I was looking at some threads on here last night & found the part number of BKR7EIX-11

I then started watching these:

NGK BKR7EIX-11 Iridium sparkplugs ITR FREEPOST CHEAPEST on eBay, also Engine Tuning Parts, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 29-Oct-08 18:04:34 GMT)

£31.50 delivered seems reasonable for a highly recommended plug. Especially when compared to the BKR7EQUP at £15 a plug. I did read around & there are views that these plugs are as good as each other & that the platinums are just so expensive because they're recommended for the Works

Just seen on Sparkplugs UK that they recommend the BKR7EIX rather than the BKR7EIX-11 & these are £28.95 delivered.

I know the difference is in the gap but why would you choose one over the other?
