I was using the denso iridium IK22 for a long period. They are very good but it has one issue. On the cylinder #2 has often unscrew itselfs. Not just on my car.

So now with new mods on my car I am using BKR7EQUP laser iridium for a price 85EUR for set of four.
They are not cheap (like denso one) but I hope they won't unscrew itselfs on #2 cylinder. For now I have only 300km with them so I can not tell a lot about it.
But for the price of JCW spark plugs (they are identical) they were cheap.

Just to give you a brief update on the progress. I now have in my box of goodies :
  • 15% reduction KMT supercharger pulley
  • 2% oversized & lightened Alta crank pulley
  • Reduced size belt
  • Set of 4 NGK BKR7EIX Iridium plugs (to be delivered)
  • Set of Eibach springs (to be delivered). A fellow Mini owner is trying to fleece me on ebay at the moment by not sending them

I've already fitted:
  • M7 Induction Kit
  • Samco Induction pipe

I am on the lookout for a 2nd hand larger intercooler, a rear ARB, a front strut brace...oh yes and some better brakes

The KMT pulley arrived and I just boxed it away waiting on the other parts. When the Alta arrived I took them both out to compare quality and noticed that the KMT didn't look quite as healthy as the Alta. Think it must have taken quite a few knocks in transit. James at Full on Motorsport took a look at some pics I sent him and agreed that I should get it exchanged. You can take a look for yourselves here:

MAFFA/Pulley - Page 1 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Thankfully though I e-mailed KavsMotorsport and they just said they would send me a new one packaged better in a box etc.... They didn't even want the old one back after I offered!

Now that's customer service!!

I'll let you know of any more updates where I just can't help but open my wallet!!!!

I'd say you'll only need a gp one really chap, if anything at all. The stock will be OK but if you rag it it can get a little out of its league...the GP one works well even on very tuned cars

Yeah GRS is a good option. The GP can be bought from the dealers (if you find a friendly GP owner who will give you thier reg or chassis number). Mine was aquired that way. part number for the top brackets, IC and the cover can be found on realoem.com

Also there is no need for a different scoop diverter, you just need to shave some of the plastic off the existing ones plastic mounting arms so they dont hit the back edge of the new GP IC cover.

how much does a gp one cost? If it's £300 plus then the grs one seems better value

maybe get the GP because you're calling this car the Guinea Pig :P Actually I saw a really cheap I/C on ebay recently, there were pics of it installed, hwever it had some really wide tig welds and was all around not very pretty.

Mods: MiniMania CAI and 15% pulley, Racing Brake front rotors, EBC Green Stuff front pads, ALTA 19mm anti-roll bar

Mine NGK has gone in about 100km. :S

So I am back on DENSO. After ....a few hours of reserching (cables, injectors, etc) I realize that spark plugs don't work (the car has shooting at WOT). I was sure the sparks are OK because they were new. But no...car works great with olds DENSO IK22 ones.

maffa ,
If you have a problem with your kmt speak to fisher because he is the manufacturer of your pulley.

Really? Small world

No problem at all so far as the customer service has been...for want of a better word...Astounding! Got the replacement pulley today packaged & boxed better so there isn't a mark on it

Had to re-order the spark plugs from somewhere else for £3 more due to the shop closing I ordered them from. Never goes smoothly does it?

BTW does anyone know the ebay user lebrun3611? Real name Mrs HR Lebrun from Cheshire. Currently refusing to respond to emails or Paypal disputes over the Eibachs I paid for! Don't want to go the legal route but will have to if I don't get a reply soon.

Hope you had a good time in Dublin, althought the weather could've been better.

Looking forward to hearing your views on the pulley when you get it fitted.
