Im interested to know how to do this to? What happens when it is removed? Does it make the exhaust sound alot better? I am thinking about getting an OBX header too, would this and resonator delete be to loud?
Yeh i just saw that oops. What is the airbox resonator anyway is it on one of the airbox pipes, like a section that sticks out in order to reduce noise? Do you not have to cut it off to remove it, or what?
Yes, if you look above your radiator at the intake air feed, there's a moulded plastic pipe which fits into your airbox to channel cold air into it. There are another 2 small pipes underneath this main air pipe which I think are designed to allow a small amount of air and intake sound to travel down to reduce echo inside the air feed and quieten the sound.
Its an absolute b**** to get off, I think you'll need to get underneath the car to get a good hold on it as the resonater pipes travel down to some sort of box. If you look on RealOEM you'll know what I mean.
My understanding of the resonator thing, was that the intake pipe that runs from the front of the car where the grill is, to the airbox, on this pipe leading in there is like some extra moulding on the side of this pipe, like a cylinder of plastic that sticks out of the main tube, and this is what reduces noise. I have heard some people say that you can cut this off, but it is no easy job fixing it back up again to being just one smooth pipe.
