Smile Mini Cooper S R53 Servicing

Hi Guys! Im new to this forum!

I was just wondering... as i have now used up all of my free servicing visits to the garage i was wanting to change the oil/filter etc. myself, and my mini has never had a set of new plugs so...

Anway, Halfords advised that 5W30 was supposed to go in but i have bought 0W40. Is this ok? could it damage the engine I have heard it is too thick and it says on the back of the tub BMW longlife-04 but my mini book says must be longlife-01? CONFUSED!!!

Also,,, spark plugs they gave me BOSCH 510 FR 78 X super 4, are these ok for the car? will they run to hot?

I think i'm just a little panicy coz I luv this car haha! Any comments would be really appreciated! Thanks Guys

AJ

I would return the oil and swap for the one recommended by mini. I would ask the staff at halfords to check there computer system as it should give them the right details for the plugs.
