350+bhp GTT Turbo Getting Major Upgrade - Mark Shead/GRS Stylee!!

Well when you have more than 350 BHP in a MINI you'd think why would you need to upgrade?

Well apparently its not good enough so its getting one hell of a work over and here are a few pics on one of the biggest upgrades.

Better story here...

Its not my car I wish !

Mines got a lowly 230-250ish

Its a guy called Lee's car and it has the JCM Brake ducts that replace the fog light areas. Not cheap either £250ish i believe

Very interesting Damo, any reason why Lee has gone to this extreme?
Is it a heat issue by any chance as my car is back at Roland for a similar problem

From conversations I had with a couple of people back in May it is a serious heat issue that Graham is trying to address on Lee's car - hence the size and position of the cooler..

Is your car pinking like crazy ?

In Italy

it must be mapped like a pig or the intercooler on the top mount must not be up to scratch as the ABF minis in the states have run top mounts on the turbos and made 337 wheel horse power with no pinking issues and thats in the california and arizona

Easy answer, the intercooler on Lee's car is more aptly been renamed the interheater, god knows how that top mount is supposed to work on yours!!

Don't want to take anything away from the rest of rolands conversion but the intercoolers are far from up to the job! A decent front mount is needed, hence Lee was sent to the master

Let us know how you get on Short of a trip to Graham for a decent front mount not holding out much hope other than big drop in boost which would defeat object of ditching the supercharger

Just read that this upgrade to Lee's car dropped its intake temps by 35 degree's! And thats comparing colder weather with the GTT with hotter weather on the GRS, so an even bigger result!!
