How Can I Make My Milltek Exhaust LOUDER?

Hello Everyone,

I hope someone can help me out here. I have the Milltek Full System (including the high-flow sports CAT) on my Mini Cooper S 2003. The system comprises of the following:

Manifold and Hi-Flow Sports Cat Assembly
Front Silencer
Link Pipe
Rear Silencer Assembly

Basically I want the exhaust to sound a bit more 'raspy' and 'pop & bang' a little more. What can I do to achieve this? I don't know a huge amount about exhausts so I hope someone can educate me on this?

Thanks in advance

Max

OK I have JCW exhaust, you can't really hear it because of S/C whine when driving. When the wife drives home I can hear it coming, do you want to deafen the world ??

Now this is what i like to hear... your my kind of man!

answer: chuck the milltek and buy a 2.75" custom exhaust with just 1 pipe and 2 in line absorbtion silencers. Exit the back like a cooper straight from the rear box. Or buy a borlan race or RMW exhaust and manifold.

no seriously thats a mad idea (i did it )

change to a GTT manaifold and decat. Or take to a good custom exhaust place and get them to cut the milly cat off put flanges on and then make it decat able. Then remove the centre silencer box just leaving the 2 rear boxes. Alternatively get them to 'oneball' it by effectively removing one rear box/pipe set and fit a new tail pipe cover on. If you do that keep the centre box as its very loud!

This is the most unprofessional bit of site management I have seen since I was banned from a certain other site...at least they had the excuse that they were enthusiasts who had strong views and not professionals paid to keep thier cool!

I think take out the middle box and get a de-cat pipe sounds like the cheapest and most straight forward option.

Where can I get one of these, how much, and how much louder will it make it?

Thanks for your help guys

I would have to agree with the janspeed manifold i am running a janspeed manifold with 200cell sports cat (because we have to abide by the law....Bulls**t...) with a milltek stainless system and mine pops and bangs beautifully ;-)

Ha,ha. The Mynes headers is the best sounding I have heard and matches the Miltek very well. Mean but not ricey at all.
