| Ok, so before I took it to the XXXXXXX Tuning house, thie mini was runnig like a beast, however I thought it could do ith smoothing out a bit and probabley could squeeze a few horses out. So waiting today with eager anticipation for them to call with the results, guess what, less than before, how come I ask, we don't know they say, also the new map was not put on, so in theory they did nothing, however, it feels massivley sluggish than before I took it to them. So plan be, I am driving upto Performance Torque instead and will let the professionals deal with it, after which I will savagely name and shame the first tuners!!!! |

| Ok, so here we go. I had some issues with my car running rich (majorly!!), sorted that after alot of pain and cash. I then thought it would be good to get the car remapped, as it has had alot of Mods and I wanted to get the most out of it. Now when we were trying to get the car fueling right, we took it to Paramount Performance in Slough, we thought perhaps the issue could be mapped out, so I took it there, got a call later on saying all sorted , but running 240 hp. Fair enough I thought, as long As I could get the car running right I could work on getting the power back, got to the MOT station, guess what still running rich, infact worse than before. Called Paramount, whom said sorry we let it go out before finishing it, bring it back and we will sort it, so I did and yet again they didnt. At this point I had to park the car up for a bit as I had burnt through alot of cash. So this Month I finally got the funds back up and managed to sort the fueling issues (tweaked the AFPR). Paramount had offered to do a remap again and put it on the rolling road it for Free. So stupidly I thought, makes sense, no more costs, now everything is sorted, it should be a fairly simple job. How wrong I was, for a start their own rolling road was not there as they were upgrading theirs (so they say), they said, their friends round the corner had one they could use. So I get the call that afternoon, sorry we can't do it as promised as someone has lost the keys to a van parked infront of the shutter. So I left my Mini overnight for them to work on in the morning. The next day I get a call that it should be ready at 14:00. At 15:00 I get a call, saying basically we have put it on the road, we have not put a map on it, as it is only running 190 hp and we dont think we will be able to get to where it was (circa 240). What a joke, I have driven my fair share of cars and I know the difference between one running 190 and 240 horse power, what a fecking joke!!! So I collected the car, just grabbed my keys as I was so pi55ed with the ***ts that I needed to get out. I called a mate of mine who was the mechanic who did the work and told him, he said that they must be joking, as he had driven it the day before and it was running savagely. Straight away I called Will at Performance Torque and booked it in for a Custom Map. I then managed to get Will to slot me in today instead of tomorrow, as I was coming down through the Midlands. Got to P-Torque, met Will, whilst he started work on the car I hooked up to their WIFI and got on with some work. and hour and a half later hey Presto car was finished, took it for a short blat, went back thanked Will and off I went. So pre remapping, Paramount stated I had 190BHP, on P-Torques RR that turned out to be 237.7 BHP and 188.9 lb/ft After mapping at P-Torgue 261.3 BHP and 201.5 lb/ft So not bad at at. Had a run today, although mainly motorway, but its quick, savagly quick, in combo (due to weight saving measure the car weighs circa 1014 kgs) the lack of weight, it is a real flyer. I will give a full (Private) Road run report tomorrow. The morale of the Story is go to a recommended Tuner, not to any Tom, DICK or Harry who has a rolling road. I would recommend Performance Torque very Highly I would Highly recommend AVOIDING Paramount Performance of Slough Road report to follow and dyno charts (will scann in the office) Last edited by Bundle Bear; Feb 15th, 2010 at 09:48 PM.
