MCS - 200HP - German tuners vs UK/US tuner

if you look on the German tuning market, there are a several professional tuners providing tuning kits. Through pulley modifications and chip tuning they achieve between 190HP - 210HP, plus a torque increase to 255Nm. These modifications cost approx EUROS 1.400,- plus guarantee for one year. Good example is www.digi-tec.de. The performance increase has been tested by Gemany car magazines.

My question is why specifically US or UK tuners are currently not providing similiar packages within the same price-perfomance relation? Is this only a regional marketing and price issue? or may be I am not updated.

Thats a very good question.

€ 1,400 = US$1,405 = £900 = AU$2,500 = CAN$2,185 !!!!

That really is CHEAP for that much performance (and with a warranty, too).

How much is labor to install the kit?

+ 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed

According to Digi-tec fitting takes approx. 3,5 hours. I do believe that labor costs are included in their price of euro 1,250.

Hamann and Hartge informed me that labor costs would not exceed euro 200, which would bring the total costs of their upgrade at respectively 1,350 and euro 1,400 (excl. 17% VAT). A two year warranty costs another euro 235 at Hamann. Don't know about Hartge but normally they do take over the BMW warranty, so I presume the same goes for MINI.

Still not sure which one to pick, but it's probably gonna be one of these three (leaning a bit to Hartge at the moment).
