Bluefin Superchip

I've just done a bit of reading on the superchip.

I have come to the conclusion that i might go down the route of a cold air intake and a bluefin superchip.

Just a few questions about the superchip:

First of all, i noticed a lot of threads on the neat say it increases bhp by 33 yet i can only see specs for it increasing by 10bhp.

Also, as a newbie to performance mods, would i notice 10bhp increase? Sorry if this is a daft question

It looks a good alternative to having it taken in to have a full ecu remap for £500-£600.

Sam

If its an oldish higher mileage car, you might notice an increase in how much you open your wallet more as it suddenly wears out quicker with a good boosting??

Doubtful, I'd say. You don't say what model you've got, but 10% is often quoted as the minimum change that the seat of your pants can detect. Then you have the possible downside that it's a maximum 10bhp increase that may only happen at some revs. It's not hard to change an engine to make more power at the peak but no more at lower revs.

If you have an older mini one then get it, best decision I have made! And yes you notice the difference and I personally feel it has actually helped my MPG.

If you have a cooper or cooper s then I don't think it's worth it.

It is an R50 Cooper, i know the superchip increases mini one bhp a lot more and to be honest, for the sake of 8bhp on my Cooper, i may just upgrade to a Cooper S eventually.

IMO not worth the money on a cooper , I personally love my mini one but the BHP is not a big concern for me, I totally understand someone wanting power when pressing the pedal, mini one is never going to give you that or the cooper for that matter but that's not to say you can't have fun
