i fitted the pipercross induction kit on my cooper the other day and it now sounds like i have a large bear under the bonnet which sound's fantastic.if any of you are thinking of fitting one (do it) you won't be disappointed its easy to fit and you can take it off again when the car goes in for a service.money well spent

Piper cross induction kit

Hi there,

I have an MCS - can it be fitted to that ?

What components are changed during the installation ?

Is there a link to further details on the products ?

Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing...

Question mcs pipercross ind kit

i don't think they do one yet for the mcs but check out
minisportshop.com coz you never know as for fitting all i did was take out the standard air box and fitted the new filter on to the pipe that goes beetween the throttle housing and the air box but i think it might be differant on the mcs but full fitting instructions were supplied

Yellow Cooper Nice Noise

Love the noise you get with the standard PX kit.

Don't like the idea of it flapping around in the bonnet and the fact that you just strap the monitor to a bit of bent metal (sorry, bracket).

Has any one put their cooper on a rolling road to check the power gain (if any). Checked the other threads and the boys from PiperCross failed to answer this direct question.

Also how often do you oil your cone?
Do you notice a dif in fuel consumption?

Cheers
S

Don't now what the exact diff the Pipercross makes on its own, but with a Pipercross and Magnex exhaust I got 126bhp the other day(using standard 95 octane fuel).

If I remember correctly you don't have to oil the filter for ages but mine was getting a little dry so I did it after 10k.

The fuel consumption could be down a little because you are always accelerating to hear the growl!!!

The pipercross was easy to fit in the S, even for a totally non mechanically minded person like me .. certainly feel that the car breaths a whole heap better and there is definately a change in the note..
Here are some pics..

I'm thinking of adding a Viper but I am worried about the warranty issues. My dealer is not keen on any mods but I really am tempted!
