dyno results

just did it today....i think the result may not be comparable to the other members on this forum because i don't believe any of you used dyno dynamics dynometer.

anyone who lives in australia try using this dyno before as i heard this dyno machine is very popular there.

anyway, i'm quite happy with it...

i don't have a baseline dyno so i can't compare before & after results.

a stock DC5 new integra type R just did a dyno before i did mine and it recorded 156ps on wheel (claimed 220 from engine)... sorry i don't have its graph

ok my wheel power is 146.2ps & engine power is 200.8ps
outside temp is 29c & humidity is 89%

can anyone tell me how much lb ft is 180nm??
is 180nm my wheel torque instead of engine torque output??

comments???

The guys from K&N measured mine on a Dyno Dynamic. Got 147 hp at the wheels, so very comparable to yours

1 lb-ft = 1.355818 Nm. so 180 lb-ft = 244 Nm, that's at the wheels I'd say

i finally hv some friends here....

wonder why our figures are so much off compared to others using other dyno machines.

oh well....

by looking at the graph, my mechanic suggest me to get another ecu that can extend couple more hundered rpm coz the power line is still climbing...he also showed me the A/F graph on the screen but he forgot to print it out....what i can recall is that the engine runs very rich still and he suggested that a high flow cat may lean it out a bit.

I see you have 180 Nm, which would be 133 lb-ft, that's definitely at the wheels I'd say.

I see you're looking for a reason to get a high flow cat SMG

First mod I'm going for will be the Supersprint header plus centre pipe as the watercooled intercooler will not be available shortly

Don't know why our figures are so much off, maybe we're the only one who used a calibrated dyno I know how my car feels though, which is fast as hell and that's what counts for me

G'day SMG,

Yeah, Dyno Daynamics are popular over her in OZ. I have personally used 2 seperate tuners in Brisbane with them. As soon as the Works kit is fitted, I will post Dyno Dynamics figures. We might be a little down on power over here when the kit is finally available. Word is that the Kit was a little noisy on drive past noise and has had to have changes to the exhaust to pass noise emission rules. That is apparently the reason we won't see our first kits until August. Hopefully, they will be able to meet the rules without loss of power.

KH - can't wait to see your results....hehe

here's the only pic i took when i was at the dyno....it's from my sony ericsson T610 camera phone and sorry for the poor quality of the pic

Here's a pic of mine at the same dyno. they couldn't drive it on the dyno cause it was to low so they had to remove the front bumper,

...146 wheel HP are approximate 200 hp at the crank?

I thought that the power lost through the wheels was somewhere around 15%. Here we're talking about 26/27%!

As said before on another thread, dyno figures really don't say ***** if you have no figures of the standard car on the same dyno to compare. Take for example the AMD conversion which got something like 189 bhp on a dyno test done by (I believe) a car mag and 220+ bhp on another dyno test done by a MCS owner. Truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. What you are really interested in is the gain you get compared to the standard MCS, as you know the power on that car is close to the claimed 163 bhp by BMW

Dyno Dynamics are generally very very conservative, meaning your numbers will be really low. I know one tuner in the US that had one. Generally dynojets read the highest, Mustang dyno's about 10hp below a dynojet, and the dynodynamics are way below that

Nice numbers cosidering
