You can get a "Bentley" publishers workshop manual for the MINI Gen 1 and 2 and that has all the info in it, they arent cheap, around 30 quid or so, but have lots of useful info in them, well worth getting one.
Dont Haynes do a manual for the Gen 1? that should only be a tenner or so?
Car selection has functional diagrams, location of parts and pinouts.
