Scotland BBR 220bhp conversion

Okay, seeing as no-one else seems to be able to give an opinion of this conversion yet, I guess it'll be me! We're heading for Brackley tomorrow morning (thursday) for the work to be carried out on friday (hubby is taking his car for a wee chip too! ) and will both hopefully return home with big cheesy grins and a few more squished flies!!

I just love your car! Bet the totty howkers and the strawberry pickers up there look at it with green eyes!

My next mini will be same colour, maybe silver stripes but I think the Saltire is fantastic, wish the same could be said of the Scotland football team.

I cant get a Union Jack install cos I live in Glasgow....how long do you think the anti- Glasgow Rangers sentiment would take to kick in and smash the motor?

Good luck with your conversion!

Well, good luck is what I needed, but not with the conversion of course! I'm home, but BabyB is still in Oxford!!
Here's the story, on our way down, the usual hold ups on the M1 result in a very slow crawl, and for common sense sake, I turned my engine off for the best part! Which made *** all difference CAUSE, seeing as I have sat nav, I have no temperature gauge, so, a little red light popped up on my rev counter, seconds before steam started billowing out from under the bonnet , one guffed cylinder head! It now appears that my cooling fans were not were not working, so the mini was taken to North Oxford Mini , I was then told that because I had a piper-x, I would not be covered for warranty , I phoned my dealers in Dundee, who said it wouldn't be a problem, but Oxford produced a letter from BMW saying that any mini with any after market products not fitted by BMW would not be covered by warranty, my dealer is FURIOUS, but apologises and says there's nothing they can do because of this letter, which they have yet to see!! So I told the oxford dealer to fart off and BabyB was taken to BBR, who are going to fix the cylinder head, and whilst they're tinkering about in there, the head is getting gas flowed!!!
NOW, for one of the important bits, PLEASE EVERYONE CHECK YOUR COOLING FANS WORK, as whilst in Oxford, the dealer made the mistake of mentioning this was not the first case of fans not working that they had seen, and if you have no gauge, the 10 second warning from the indicator light is not enough!! (BBR are fitting digital gauges for me!!) One grumpy letter to Mini coming up!!
Now, for the real important bit, the conversion! Seeing as I would not get to sample my own mini at speed for a while, David Brodie gave me the honour of being the first non-journalist person in the whole wide world to drive his phase 2 converted Cooper S!! This conversion is THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO THE COOPER S, please, everyone go to BBR and get this done, , I'm still grinning today, regardless of being 442 miles away from my baby! The response, the speed, the handling, everything is just right! BBR have put alot of money and testing into this conversion and the software adjustments they make to the mini computer are far superior to other <ahem> conversions! Watch out for Evo magazine soon, there should be some modded mini comparisons in there!
But I must say a big thanks to everyone at BBR for looking after us so well (hubby please with his chipped 911!!! ), and I can't wait to get my new 240+bhp BabyB back!!!!

THE END (for now and everone with a Cooper S, go phone BBR, they even alter already modified engines!!)

piper-x? Is that an Air Filter?

So because of that BMW said your warranty was void?

I'm not surprised your going hell for bent with the 240bhp conversion. You may as well if your warranty is already shot. Sounds awesome.

David Brodie reckons the Elise is the fastest car he's ever driven, probably cause it weighs nothing, considering they have Ferraris, Astons etc.....

Think BMW are on shaky ground claiming that fitting an aftermarket airfilter affects the warranty on the engine, when the problem was caused by their faulty cooling fan and their lack of temperature gauge in a modern high performance car.
