Never had the k&n myself but I did have the pipercross and I believe they are similar but they are easy to fit and remove, but your dealer may be okay about you having it when you get a service....mine was

I have the pipercross and my mate has the K&N filters. They are both fitted on in the same wasy and are pretty much the same.

I took mine to the dealer and they said nothing about mine to me. My mate took his in and they asked him to remove it before the worked on it.

I think it depends on the dealer.

Bt back to what you asked. Yes they are easy to install and remove about 10 - 15 min job for the average person i would say.

Hoe this helps.

thanks, my dealer is pretty strict about the warranty as i have already asked them, BUT if they are easy to fit and remove i can just take it off before it goes in

I've go a K&N on my MC it's really easy to fix the only things you need is a tork scewdriver and at least 10 minutes of your free time,it improve your performance (a little bit) and the engine sound.

I am not mechanically minded at all and i found it a little tough. Took me about 3 hours......but that was mostly because i couldnt remove the airbox. I wouldn't want to try and re fit the factory one though because the foam tubing is very stiff and will be tough to refit. All that said however i am a shocking mechanic and when i took it for the first drive i soon realised it was well worth it. I have the K&N 57i and when you accelerate it literally sounds like a racing car. My dad has a subaru Impreza WRX STI import and he said it sounded the same!! It also seems to make it much more receptive. It is definitely worth it!!
