United-Kingdom How much is it worth?

Thinking about selling my April '03 Hartge Cooper S and i thought this would be a good place to guage exactly what its worth and how much i should put it up for sale.

FAO Mods: People who frequent Performance & Tuning have a more realistic idea of what it would be worth than people who post in General Discussion IMO so i'd appriciate it if this thread stayed here. Thanks.

So. It's Solid Black with black roof and wing mirrors (pic's in personal gallery) with Chili Pack, CD player, Harmon Kardon, auto climate control, xenon washers, child seat things, multi function steering wheel and a couple of other bits and pieces which i can't remember but would obviously put in the ad! Car came in at £16,975 and has had the Hartge 210bhp tuning pack carried out @ approx 4,500 miles so stands in total value at around £18,800 but it has covered quite high mileage at 18,500. It has TLC and this is recognised and honoured by most dealers.

I'm looking for ball park figures as it what might be worth, i'm thinking to advertise it at £17,000, opinions please

Cheers

Nic

Nic,

Why are you selling up mate ? What car you planning on replacing the MCS with? I would honestly say that you are looking at 16-16500 for a car of you mileage and with a non-BMW mod, but i am no expert on the matter.

I'm only thinking about selling due to a possible move to Canada mate, i'd simply buy another one over there

£16500 doesn't seem bad money

if you can get that figure you've done well.

just sold my Hartge MCS, needed a quick sale due to company car and this reflected in the price but went for lot less than your figure ( and with less mileage )

i think it depends how quicky you need to sell, at that price it maybe on the market for a while.

best of luck with the sale.

Nic

I have a cooper with a modded cat back exhaust and air intake. I have worries about selling it as it will need to be bought by someone that understands the modification. Otherwise I will have to take the parts off. Your car needs to goto someone that wants this kit and is happy with the unclear warranty obligation borne by BMW. It would not be easy for you to return it to standard

Our car was photographed by BMW when it went in for a service, which sounds a bit worrying. So far though they have not refused any warranty work/ tlc. I wonder if they have a database of modded/ converted cars for potential buyers to refer to ?

Good luck.

Love the Hartge badge even if I don't know how to prounouce it.

adios

Thought about just shipping the car to Canada when you go? It may not cost as much as what you're going to lose on the sale and replacement.

Thats an option as well Moorlockx

I could put the car back to standard and sell it to a delaer for a quick sale if i wanted. However i'll either sell it with mods (and i am patient) or i'll give the car to my sis-in-law.

Dude, where did you advertise yours?

Hi Nic,

I only advertised mine on this website and had loads of interest ( see for sale thread)

This was my first port of call then I would have used Autotrader etc, the Hartge conversion seemed to create alot of interest, we needed a quick sale so the car went on the cheap, but it seems to a good owner at least.

Good luck mate.

Hi mate, i offered my car to a dealer and he offered me 15,500 if i put new tyres on it. Not too bad so i'm expecting a little bit more than that.
