Tony, The solution is easy. You can get a oval outlet Spintech, as well as oval tubing/tips from Spintech. They make oval tubing for extreme clearance situations/street rods. Good luck! -- Cheese

mac, upon first reading your post, the oval inlet/outlet Spintech muffler came to mind. That would not work with my application as I'll be inverting the muffler, so the oval would be going vertically, not horizontally to match the valence shape... I then decided to visit the Spintech site again, and they actually have tips that go from round to oval! Good job. But, I see 2 things of concern... The lengths are like 18". One is said to be "short," but no length is provided. And the width of the oval is either 3.5" (the short one), or 4". I believe the one that fills the valence in the intial post is like 6"... Of most concern though is the length of these tips. With only like 20 or so inches (a bit more I believe) to work with, muffler and tips need to fit... Here is a link to their tips: http://www.spintechmufflers.com/spin...ntechindex.asp It appears that I can't link to it directly. Oh, well, accessories, then tips, I believe... I'm attaching a couple photos of what a few look like. I can call them on their short one, to see just how short it is... '03 (9.6.02) MCS IB/W Lapis Blue Leather Mission = 10:1 (Weight:HP)

Tony, You dont want a tip, you want a "transition". They're a lot shorter... then you just need to bust out the Wenol and get polishing. ![]() ![]() or try these vette tips... they're 3" tho. http://mechamperformance.com/d_docs/e_tips.html Last edited by macncheese; Feb 7th, 2004 at 04:18 AM.

Thanks mac, I saw the transitions, but didn't realize that I could work one into a luster . I've been scouring the web for almost an hour, and found nothing, well, minus a possiblity in Australia. I might need to make the 2.25" one work... I saw those Vet ones. Nice. Oh well... '03 (9.6.02) MCS IB/W Lapis Blue Leather Mission = 10:1 (Weight:HP)

it's pretty easy to squeeze one end of a round tube into an oval,. I use flat dies on a press brake and plug the tube temporarily with a compressable urethane to prevent butt cheeks from forming. You could probably get there using a vise or a frame press. john

| More detailed pic of Oval tip Yes it is a 2.25" inlet but that could be cut out and a 2.5" transistion welded in. So then it would be a slip on. There appears to be enought height to make this mod from this pic's angle. T815 - The T815 is a polished stainless steel tip 8 ½inches long and 6 inches in diameter and has an oval cut finish. The inlet diameter is 2 ¼ inches wide. This tip is manufactured with high quality T-304 stainless steel. http://www.toucanindustries.com/clie...ducts/T815.jpg Wish I could get this picture posting thing down pat......Drats, HELP! | I'm going to post that picture below. To do so, one cannot use the Quick Reply feature (in case you are). So, do a Reply, and then you should look for Manage Attachments. This willl allow you to upload 1-3 items. Before doing any of this, you do need to download what you want though. With this one here, I went to your link, right-clicked on the image, and saved it to my desktop. If this is too much detail, I apologize.... John, thanks for your input! I'm feeling better about making this tip work. I'm just going to order this tip, and post some different shots of it to get some possibilities on maybe the best way to convert it... Of course using some intermeditate piece to bring the two together (tip inlet & muffler outlet) is going to lengthen matters, at least minimally. This is going to then impact what I should do further-up... Thanks! Going under my MCS now to do some more surveying, and snap a couple shots.
