Milltek Manifold review....

Come one....come all......if you want to hear about me profess about the best mod any Mini could ever have....please read on!!

Well....I was taken by the BMP....infact I would go so far as to say it moved me...!!! The highly tuned sound turned my JCW MCS into a beast....now....my new Milltek Manifold has turned my beast into a wild ferocious animal snorting fire begging you to plant the 'go-faster' pedal!!

Ok....so the review....

I took my Mini down to Birds and was greeted by one of the managers. I was given the choice of waiting in the waiting room staring at steering wheels hung on the wall or be dropped into Uxbridge by "Keith"....I took the latter option!

Uxbridge is ok...but after 3 hours another driver came to pick me up in my new roaring MCS!!

Went back....paid...(ouch!!)...and roared off!! I LOVE THE SOUND! It sounds like it should have sounded after the JCW kit.....damn you JCW.....

There are not words I even know to describe what it now feels like to drive my Mini. With the fine whine of the supercharger through the awesome intake, there is a throaty rumble ....its like you can hear how fast the emissions are being ejected!!!

I invite all to come visit me and enjoy the most fantastic sounding Mini in the world (equal with your Chris...when you get the intake!!).....It now has a sound, with the power and speed that commands the upmost respect amongst some of the best sports cars around!!

WOW.....Dont know what more to say but....Get one!!!

Jones!!

Excellent mate! So how does the BMP add to it, does it give a nice induction roar along with the milltek, or does the milltek drown it out?

Does it feel better through the gears now? It should do!! The first thing I noticed was just the immense pull through the gears

No doesnt drown it out at all...merely adds to it.....and yeah....I was in first and all of a sudden I am redlining and trying to get more.....then realised I had to change!! Gets up the revs a bit quicker I think!! I am still so taken by the noise that I am not yet noticing the pull factir just yet.....ooooohhh.....wanna go for a drive now!!! On my way back I blew past a TVR....he gave me the thumbs up too!!!

I'm just about to order the BMP Jones, literally gonna push the button to order, but tell me, does it make a noticible sound difference over the stock box? I say that as I was really disappointed with the PiperCross system I put in as it gave no increase in sound at all!

Hmm i'm definitly looking to spend some on an exhaust but i feel its a heck of a lot of money for a manifold, i think i'll be looking at a custom made setup.

It really does make a lot of difference! When you start driving it a bit more it becomes very noticible in the way the car really does surge to the redline. It's almost as if it has an extra bit of puff at the top end of the rev range and just when it would have given up, it sinks its lungs and pulls you that little bit more

Plus the sound is worth it alone! Nice burble on the overrun and crackling when you lift off sharply. When accelarating the only way I can explain it, is that it sounds unmuffed. Imagine putting your hand over your month when you talk, then take that hand away, and you'll get a similiar effect.

I'd have to agree with Jones as well, it should have been this way in at the start with the JCW kit. However, I fear that some may have found it a little too noisy.

It still makes me grin .... bring on the BMP
