JCW Seats & BMP intake fitted!!!!

Well what a month its been. First of all the Milltek Manifold was bolted onto to the car by Birds, then I went mad and got a BMP intake and some JCW Sports seats fitted!!

I’ll not go into huge detail regarding the BMP as it has been covered a lot before, but there are some pictures below of the install

The seats however I will write a bit about as I don’t know of anyone else who’s had them fitted yet.

In short they are fantastic! The grip around your thighs, sides and shoulders is really great and at the same time it allows you to relax in the seat without having to brace around tight bends. I’m not the biggest person in the world, but I did used to find that my old seats allowed me to slide about a bit. They don’t adjust for height but I find them perfect for a good driving position. The seats have “Sparco” written on the adjustment knobs so I guess we know who makes them

Aside from the functionality of them, they really do look the part The quality is as you’d expect, BMW leather wrapped in a Sparco Seat frame Plus the fact that it just makes the car look more aggressive I think

Anyway, I’m over the moon with them, so if you’re thinking of getting some, go and place your order now

Pictures are attached

Cheers,

I know that some others that changed seats had airbag lights etc after the install.
Are these seats wired etc to avoid this?

Why can't you have your seats retrimmed? Aren't Newton Commercials specialists in this?

My Uncle's place where going to do it in Red Alcantera and Anthracite Leather, but apparently newer Europe spec seats the cloth is glued to the foam, so can't be removed. Thats what they told me the morning i dropped car off and they looked at it to check. gutted.

Maybe worth making enquiries with Newton Commercials then. As if that is the case surely it is going to stop them retrimming minis too. I'm no expert on this, but a leather retrim is on my to do list so I would like to know if there are problems.

Right to answer a few questions:

The BMP is better than the Pipercross in my opinion. Basically, it makes the supercharger whine a lot louder and as it sucks in more air, the exhaust gurgles and pops more!

The seats were £641.63 each and it cost £77.50 to deactivate the airbag light. BMW had to send an authorisation code in order for the lights to be turned off. This code is unique to all cars so it takes about a day to receive this from BMW.

Regarding the height compared to the old seats, they are spot on actually. I used to have my seats pumped all the way to the floor anyway, and I'd say they were 2 or 3 notchs up from this. The driving position is perfect

Cheers.
