United-Kingdom Ecu Remap / Chip For Jcw Cooper

Hi all,
I have a JCW cooper (not 's'), and was wondering, because of the JCW kit, what kind of remap or chip could I get, and what performace increase would I gain? Another thing, whilst reading a mini mag, looking at adverts, I noticed that one company claimed that ecu remap does not affect warrenty, because It is undetectable. Is this true??

JCW MINI COOPER

* JCW KIT
* 17" 'S' ALLOYS
* DVD PLAYER
* CHILLI PACK
* CHROME REPEATERS WITH JCW BADGES

HI JCW Cooper 350,

As far as I'm aware no one does a chip for the Cooper Works. Although you could contact AMD and I'm sure they'll be willing to do a one click to suit the Works.

I was interested myself but as I'm saving up for a house at the mo' couldn't justify spending the money. I take it your JCW is number 350 by your user ID. I guess it's a 122BHP too right?

It was acceptable in the 80's

Yeah it's kit 350, i'll take your word for it on the BHP, as i've done nothing else to the car. I was also wondering about the exhaust on the kit, do you think something like a quicksilver downpipe would increase my power???

A new manifold would almost certainly increase power. The Miltek one is supposed to be very good with the sports cat.

I DJ and produce Drum and Bass and Garage mainly but I'm into all sorts of music. I'm on nights at the mo' hence the strange reply times so if I don't reply until tomorrow night I'm not ignoring you! edit: actually you're on here real late too!

Oh BTW my car is the 132BHP model. A much noiser beast than the 122BHP Works, especially with the open induction system on it. Actually I really must put some more pics in my gallery, those pics are well old

Oh BTW. To tell the difference between 122 and 132BHP models look at the exhaust. A slash cut tip with Works etched on it is the 132BHP model, a round flat cut tip is the 122BHP model.

Ginge, any chance of some pics of that exhaust please mate?

Do you think John Cooper Garages would just sell the exhaust?

Olly

Here's a pic of the 122BHP one

No pics of my 132 one though I'm afraid. Don't think they make it anymore anyway.

Check out www.johncooper.co.uk for details.
