Does Silicone Kit Do anything?

Does kits like the samco kit for the mini cooper S do anything other than being a tad more reliable than rubber?

hmm...engine dressing?

I've not heard of one Mini with burst or leaking rubber pipes. Maybe I just haven't checked the faults and fixes forum

They're just now getting old enough where that could very possibly start happening.

Silicone hoses, he good ones. wear better and t expand less under high heat conditions and are less brittle in severe cold.

Are they worth it?? I don't know. As hard as hose replacement is on the MINI it might be worth it. I'll probably do it down the road. Plain old black ones though.

If your hoses aren't leaking, they are already doing everything that hoses can do.

the reason for me considering these kevlar coolant kits is for my eventual aim of colour coding my engine bay ...anyone know how to fit?

Rubber lines last a while so silicon hoses would be good for looks and better resistance against extreme temps. These guys have done a mini and have a bunch of different colors. http://www.hosetechniques.com/before...29830434896515
