i was just reading something on the ebv and it said that it is used so when u are cruising around the charger is under 5% of boost this is also to allow for better fuel economy and quieter super charger noise it also is said that the Eaton bypass valve is used for smooth discharge flow and low level of noise during operation ! Straight away i thought what if you could disconnect this valve the super charger noise would be louder (awesome) and maybe it will give the full 11 psi amount at once instead of gradually !!! i have no idea if this will work it was an instant idea !!!
It's already a well-known trick! Check the Yo-Yo chronicles on North American Motoring. Tying the bypass valve shut does provided an increase in throttle response, at the expense of a decrease in fuel economy and perhaps (this is not documented) increased wear on the blower. It doesn't increase supercharger whine, as this is pretty well muffled by the intake plumbing.
If you want to increase performance and noise, check out the "hot air intake" thread on NAM. This seems to provide a larger increase in performance (for a lot less money) than all of the aftermarket CAI's out there. I've done this to my '03 MCS and it works very well. It's also very easy to put it back to stock for those trips to the dealer.
Closing it off altogether will:
a. Not make it louder ( you will hear it more and sooner)
b. Be a mechanically unsmart thing to do. Pulse reversion will have a negative impact on the supercharger.
11psi of boost at 1100 rpm isn't really going to do you much good.
Now if you just want to beat the crap out of your car and sell it in a year to some poor unknowing sap, well then that's OK then.
