Help Required - Gear Lever

Hi folks, I need some help.

I have a short shift gear lever to fit to an 03 Cooper but no instructions.(dont ask why...I just dont have any!)

I have asked a couple of companies selling similar items for help but as I havent bought it from them, they are not interested in giving help or assistance (well known companies too!)
All a bit of a disapointing attitude really when all I'm really asking is how to remove the standard item.

Anyway, can anyone describe the removal/re-fitting of the standard gear lever?

Any assistance will be gratefully received.

If you mean a replacement shift arm (lever) then here is the B&M instructions in pdf format.
