I have been running the 2500's for the last month and the last 2 track days... great things... have been using them on the standard discs which are better than the EBC discs... My personal opinion of EBC is that they are worse than factory! ( but thats only an opinion) fitting the new discs with new 2500's this week.

Not entirely true per se. Greenstuff pads are very very good, you just need the correct rotor to pair them with. I have used greenstuff pads on all my cars and have been on track alot with my race-prepped MG ZR. Ironically the EBC rotors are probably the worst out there as many have found, since their grooved and semi-slotted design generates alot of unwanted squealing, does not effectively dissipate heat compared to competitors' models and they have alot of fracture points. In my experience, you will not get better than the Tar-Ox disks (G88). You can't beat triple heat treating and with the greenstuff pads, its a match made in heaven ![]() Plus, with greenstuff pads there is virtually sweet FA brake dust ![]() Henry

I have used EBC Green and Red on the street and limited track use, not all out racing. They worked very well on both the Cooper and the S. The Cooper has stock discs, the S has upgraded slotted/drilled discs. I don't think the Greens are better stopping power than stock but as someone already mentioned they sure cut down on the dust. If anyone has any specific questions for EBC, I will probably stop by their booth at the SEMA show in Las Vegas later this week.

Can you ask them why they destroy the factory disks?? They warped mine (twice) and generally didn't work as well as the factory pads, but they did generate less dust I've got a set that are not half worn and I've had to give them up as a bad joke Yes that's right, the pads last 40k, but you'll need to fit 5 new discs in that time ![]() EDIT: I should add they were greenstuff, and there were no track sessions involved. It was driven as only as hard as the other MINI's and they did't have any problems

I bought the Spotties and EBC yellow/black as recomended by EBC themselves.. they are supposed to be capable of a few track days.. for the money spent i was expecting great things. Then after speaking to some mates who run in GTP production with an EvoVIII they said they went through the saga as well.. in reality the EBC greens are just a low dust pad material. The reds are a little better, and the yellow/black is supposed to be big bertha! But in reality EBC should look at how they bond there materials to there backing plates and maybee Split the pad material in 2 as they always heat crack down the middle creating a weak point. On all occasions running the EBC pad material i have had a chunk of pad material fly out of the caliper. I Beleive that the EBC would be good for a normal car and driver wanting to reduce brake dust or has a show car... but they are certainly not up to task if any performance/endurance is required Im not bashing the product... as I have sent Photo's and technical data to EBC themselves asking them to explain why it occured when it does not occur with other products.

Greenstuff pads are, relatively speaking, very hard compound pads when compared with OEM fare. Due to the friction compounds used, greater pad temperatures are seen when braking enthusiatically. I have heard of many many people warping stock rotors with greenstuff pads (not just in the MINI arena). Some (like MAX) seem to get on fine with greensuff pads on stock rotors. Maybe they are lucky or drive more responsively where brake use is kept to an absolute minimum. Warpage occurs simply due to the excess heat generated between rotor surface and pad friction compound. On the stock rotors there are no extra airflow measures i.e. slots etc, therefore the disks get really really hot! Cooked rotors means warpage time... The simple solution is to upgrade the rotors to something more durable; there is a reason why EBC sell uprated rotors you know. They're not intended just for looks ![]() A heat treated and very durable aftermarket disk, like the Tar-Ox disks, will NOT warp with the greenstuff pads under normal road and track conditions unless you accidently put the hanbrake on in the pit lane after a 30 lap track outing ...Henry

Its the pads. Different pad compounds cause different degrees of dust. I expect the stock Mini ones are rather soft and therefore give out lots of crap Stu 2002 BRG MCS with more mods than can remember The thieves choice in race cars ![]() 2005 BEP MCS stock standard and staying that way
