| Different company different prices. Is one truely better it depends on who you talk too.. also on the style and what you plan on doing with it. Stages of clutch 1, 2 or 3. .. Stage 1 is for slightly modded cars but still plan on everyday driving and towing.. a stage 3 normally doesnt allow for much slippage its either all or nothing. which is good for track use but makes it a bit tough for intown hill and stop and go traffic and a stage 2 is inbetween the two as you would expect. Currently im running the Stage 3 and can say its a pain if im hauling a good load. but not that much of a diff. when im by myself and doing normal (not really city) driving. It does take a bit to get use to. When others try my car (other mini owners) they do have a tendency to stall it once or twice until they figure out it really doesnt grab until the last 1/4 of the clutch pedal. Also it does grabs slightly at 1/4 up from the floor giving the false sense like something is going to happen but doesnt.
Flywheels .. alot of conversy on this. but the basic is the heavier the flywheel the smoother and less changes in speed in both accelleration and decelleration. Lighter flywheel the more drastic the change in speed. Do you need to rev it to the moon to get a light weight flywheel going? NO you dont! just feather the clutch a little more. reving it and popping the clutch puts more strain on the drive train than needs to be.
Will you get that quick rev and back to idle that most are looking for. well it will be quicker yes but not what you get from a HIGH compression N/A engine. simply because its not a high compression engine. By lightin the flywheel or any other rotating mass it Will give better gas milage and performace.
LSD. Its great if cooked right.. oh sorry wrong type. With this its you get what you pay for. I'm using the Phantom grip which is one of the cheapest ones out there. Does it work. Yes. is it as strong and reliable as the Quafie or others.. No. Now ive asked before on the LSD for those who have the better one if they had a steering or chirping problem. which something i had in my 4wd that had LSD and/or Posi both front and rear. Never got an answer. But with the Phantom Street version. no real adverse effect ive found on the road. I can lay down Dual black marks off the line. It will pull better out of the corners. Do better in slick areas.Still turn tight slow turns with no hopping or chirping. pretty much what you would expect. Downs side is i need to change the tranny oil twice as often (yes theres metal shavings). Which is a bit more work involved. Do i recommend it if you can afford the others. NO i dont. But if you have a tight budget and dont see any over usage in track time on the car. Its a good alternative.
The stuff ive done my car with are the less expensive soultions. By usinging off brands that are of High quality and /or scratch and dent, Discontinued Items. Like the Phantom grip. Most turn there nose down on that item. Which i was heading that way as well until i spoke to Tony Nuzzo of Nuzzo motorsports. Who gave me straight up answers they made sense. The Biggest question i had about the product from people who recommended it was about Metal shavings. 90% of the people i spoke with stated there were no shavings.(not a good answer). 8% said there were some but were so fine thats its nothing to worry about.( also not a good answer) The last 2% stated there are shaving and what to look for and how often to change the tranny oil to be on safe side (good answer)
Hope this helps you some.. remember alot of this is my humble opinion which we all have one.
Until we meet on the road
