| Hartge, does my question sound clear to you?? If not, could you re-write it in a "better" english since english is my second language... 2012 Countryman S All4 - Light White, Sunroof, Premium & Cold packages, Xenons, Adaptive lights, and lots of fun!! |

| I believe it depends on the base version of software. In your case I think reloading the v38 maps over v39 would work because there's supposedly not much difference between the two base versions. If you were on v36 with MTH mappings and the dealer installed v38 or v39, I don't think the v36 mappings would work too well if at all as there were a bunch of changes between v36 and v38/39. There is also a compare function in Cartune that you can use to determine whether the dealer upgraded your car. I'm pretty sure this information is fairly accurate. I'm going by what I've seen work in our local MINI group. |

| I believe that compare function in the cartune software is used to compare the installed map with the map that you are about to install. Lets just say you have 2 files, first without exhaust mod and second with exhaust mod. You have installed the 1st file and try to compare it with the second file( both same version), I believe there will also be an error msg popping out even they are in the same version. So this function cant be used to determine the version of the ECU. Correct me if im wrong. thank you. Is there any problem with V39 and above? |
| ||||
| Yes you're correct. The compare function is used to compare the installed map against a map file. I've used it several times. It won't generate an error if the loaded map and the map file are the same. However, it cannot be used to determine full ECU version. There's quite a few threads on people having issues with v39, but most of them seem to revolve around not resetting the adaptive learning cache after the upgrade. |

| Another question, Is it possible to flash back to a stock file (let's say version 38) if the dealer would put the version 39?? 2012 Countryman S All4 - Light White, Sunroof, Premium & Cold packages, Xenons, Adaptive lights, and lots of fun!! |
| ||||
| No, because MTH only addresses a few areas of the ECU map, not the entire thing. As for updating/backdating, why not just download the v.39 ECU file and send it to Franz? He can update that - I had mine done several months ago. His - 04 CR/W MCS Hers - 05 BEP/W MCS |

| Ok great! Thanks for the answers.. Does the Version 39 with MTH is good or it feels jerky like Version 39 from BMW?? 2012 Countryman S All4 - Light White, Sunroof, Premium & Cold packages, Xenons, Adaptive lights, and lots of fun!! |
