When / How to Clean BMP Intake Filter?

I've had the BMP Intake on my MCS for about 9 months, which I love for the boost in power enhanced supercharger whine as well as great looks. I put the stock intake back in recently for a warranty trip to the dealer and thought I should clean the BMP filter before refitting it...doesn't look particularly dirty but how often do you clean the filter and how is it done? I seem to remember that the BMP filter is designed to be cleaned periodically rather than replaced. Thanks.

Whoa Jesse!

I try and clean mine every 6k miles bear in mind it isn't a BMP but i'm pretty sure if i had one of them i'd d the same

technique for me is to degrease it, then simply give a gud clean in some soapy water, rinse make sure no soap left init, dry it out (this can be speeded up by running round swinging yer filter around like a mad man), re-oil and re-fit and away u go for another 6k miles

p.s. I've never read any proper instructions to clean an air filter but i've been cleaning them like this for a long time and they have always been fine after so i'm assuming it works ok
