For and on behalf of everyone on mini2 I would like to share my latest adventure down at West Tuning and also not to forget to thank Birds/Hartge for a fantastic 2.5 years I spent with them and there 212-215 upgrade in which the service they provided I thought could never be beaten, however the last few weeks have been exhilarating down at West Tuning from day one they have given me as much time and technical information as I wanted and whilst my car was with them I was updated every day on its progress, there wer a few set backs however when Ray (west tuning) found that there wer air leeks around piping to the throttle body and the crank case vacuum was not holding up when pressure tested, although dyno'd at 251bhp he was not happy and decided to change all the pipework in order to rectify the problem, my point being he could of easily told me it was at the 260bhp he promised me and I would of believed him, the piping was changed at no extra cost to myself and I made the journey down on the Saturday morning for the in house dyno, result a true 261.3 bhp@ 6710rpm with 214lbs ft torque@4204rpm and finally the thumbs up from Ray then he proceded to give me a full technical explanation on how and how not to carry out a dyno which I will be adding to this post soon for anyone who would like to know, as for the road test thats all I can say is "it's fast" for fear of reprisals, you will just have to believe me....
To sum up I found Ray to be a very private sort of person keeping everything close to his chest, he has a genuine reason for this once bitten twice shy shall we say, as you can see he does not share much input with us on mini2 regarding his modifications, he doesn't have too but I can assure you he knows his stuff, I have actually really enjoyed my last week or so with West Tuning feeling as if I have known them for years so well done Ray and the boys...
Good write up , heres me just being chuffed with over 200 bhp
260 !!! that must be swift , enjoy.
And yes , post on dyno thoughts etc , and of course if you are feeling generous your dyno plot please.
Interested as I want to go on the dyno to check out my recent GTT upgrade.

[just looked at your pics , very nice. I want those Hartge wheels
Anyway , did you keep the GRS I/C with the new conversion?
How's the traction issue with 260?]
Ray and Nigel put my mini back to standard last week, and even when BMW stitched them up and not delivered a new belt, Ray leant me his own LCR to get home in, and to work the next day !
All of the team are extremely nice, and would recommend them to anyone
Here are the dyno plots, sorry about the quality I had to take a pic of them but you should be able to make out the figures...The GRS IC is truly a great bit of kit and will prove itself in the warmer days ahead...The Alta OCC is a load of crap so that came off, caused a lot of the crankcase vacuum problems....Traction issues are fine for me as I am not to keen on the standing starts, much prefer midrange and up wards but sure if you rag it in 1st & 2nd you don't go anywhere if thats what your asking....
Heh!.. enjoy what you have got, I had the same for 2.5 years and enjoyed every day of it, your car will run the way these cars wer supposed to run from day one and I am sure you will love it...
Just like to add my thanks to Ray West His service was second too none today
Explained what he was going to do etc , then did what it said on the tin
Thanks also to Dave for starting it all off
Sorry the pic is a bit dirty will clean it up later
