urr... beef the S is Supercharged not turbo'd. I assume you mean a dump valve when you say BOV? Eg. dumps excess gas as the turbo speed drops (changing gear rev drops etc). Supers don't use dump valves as they don't use gasses in the same way as a turbo, they deliver constant power as they are not rev reliant as a turbo is (no spooling time).

It's nearly as bad as the guy who asked me - Is the Evo 4wd ???

I just tutted and walked off. he's not worthy of my words.

you gotta laugh.

oh, and you gotta think - the mini would sound awesome if it was able to dump.

Vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm Ktschhh.

I can tell you it has already been done on the twincharge car.... 1 blowoff for turbo and 1 for supercharger

I suppose there might be merit in venting surplus boost rather than feeding it back into the supercharger inlet - it would help keep the charge temperatures down.

It's likely to be rather loud though - and not just when it's venting.

Kuhmo - how much oil vapour comes out? Or have you completely replumbed?

I still have the BPV on my twincharge but the other SPI car has made a custom pipe from the throttle body that takes out the BPV. It was boosting it open sometimes at 25-30psi.

I will probably replace my tube also in the next few months. He has been running this set-up for more than a yr and a half.

The tube itself is probably worth some power on these twincharge kits but I doubt there is too much to gain from it on a slightly modified MCS. The mini just doesnt make enough HP to take advantage of all of the extra air. Now when you start boosting over 20psi the advantages become very obvious.

Hi Kumho Kid,
I'm running the twincharge too w/ two stage boost. Second stage maxes at 21.5 psi. What a ride!
I'm having issues w/ detonation. Have fried cylinder one plug nicely at one point. I have a couple of tuning maps but it still isn't right or running at full potential. I'm running the tank almost dry of current fuel and putting in 5 or 6 gallons of 100 octane this coming week to see if that stops the detonation. I'm hoping that will then give us a clue on where to tune things.
How are you doing with the summer heat and the turbo?

Missing my buddies Dan, Ed, and Diane but glad I have three angel buddies, And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs
