DIY Need belt tensioner tool

Hey all,
A friend of mine and I bought new pulleys for our S's. We need the belt tensioner tool to install them.
Anybody own one that would like to sell it? We would hate to buy new--especially since it has such limited use.

do tell...

Really? Do tell, do tell! If we can do it without that special--read "expensive"--tool, it would save some hassle and time.

thanks

I get the feeling that Minibeel is talking about the pulley removal tool and not the belt tensioner tool??????? It is possible to do the job without the belt tensioner tool but you will need the pulley removal tool.

I do have a pulley removal tool. Someone advised me to use two bolts and a bar to loosen the tensioner. I am willing to try that. Just don't want to hurt my baby...

u just unbolt it and off it comes, use some sort of crow bar when refitting just to line it up with the bolt holes thats all u need really

p.s. as long as yer carefull there will be no marks to the tensioner using the crow bar method

Just be very careful when levering that you dont use to much force and hit the tesioner on the bolt which hangs through the engine mount, this can weaken the tensioner and leed to the tensioner arm snapping and causing all sorts of trouble.
