BBR venturi scoop, M7 Scoop air divertor

HIya all, i was just wondering if anyone had tried using either of these products, they are claimed to improve cooling of the intercooler by increasing airflow through the scoop. BBR try to sell me the Venturi everytime i call them and say its amazing. Has anyone used these, (i've seen a few around) what were the results. Im already on the grs ic list so will this improve things further?

The venturi is £79.99 from BBR (anyone seen it cheaper?)
likewise the M7 is more expensive and requires painting i think.

thanks all

I have the M7 extreme scoop I purchased it from www.essentialmini.co.uk , they arranged to have it painted too. Its a quality piece of kit and the fit is excellent.

I use it in conjunction with my GRS intercooler and it does exactly what it says on the tin.

It is more expensive than the BBR , but the BBR is just a stick on piece to the existing scoop

Hi Martin
Are there any problems with the windscreen wipers flapping about with the M7 scoop?

My BBR scoop doesn't cause my wipers to flop around at speed.

if you aredoing excessive speeds with the bbr venturei then the windscreen wipers do jump a little on the screen! nothing to worry about tho,

does exactly what it supposed to do. good piece of kit and looks nice to if you like carbon fibre

I have the BBR scoop, it looks mint, but isn't real Carbon Fibre.

At about 85mph the wiper does bounce a little but nothing major...I am looking at changing the wipers to solve this though

Got the GRS intercooler on order, so should be a good combination

Hey Clinton,

You can buy mine in a week or so if you would like?! Just waiting for the M7 scoop to appear first. Let me know.

Cheers,

Henry

Rasp, speak to Simon at www.essentialmini.co.uk - he might be able to rustle something up for you

Thanks Martin
If he can manufacture the M7 out of carbon fibre who would be up for a group buy?

I have the BBR scoop, and although I was very sceptical about its claimed effects, I feel it certainly does make the car lose less power on a hot day - the car flies along now and I think some of this is due to the BBR venturi.

It is however extremly cheap in looks - a bit offputting - and it does make the wiper jump at about 85mhp - which is annoying - hoping to find a fix for it soon.

Worth the money - ? - in summer definatly. Dont think it will be useful in winter though.

Ive been looking at some better wipers...

...think the Bosch Aerotwin would work TBH...

...but unsure where I can get it from.

Also tempted to get mine painted and blended in to the original scoop.
