Factory fit JCW Interesting post on motoringfile giving US price of factory fit JCW kit: $6300 which is essentially the same as the supply only price of the components. (ie no labo(u)r) I suppose in the UK this equates to about £3700-3800 http://www.motoringfile.com/2005/07/...iniusa_pricing motoring file scoops again! ![]() note kit consists of JCW engine kit, JCW brake kit and LSD

Just got a call from my dealer with the same info and sat down to post...I guess there's no getting ahead of the motoringfile--such a great resource! Anyone have any idea what wheels will come w/ the factory JCW? (to accommodate the brakes) Just hoping it's not the S-lites...

Philip Actually I like the look of the S-lites, but in a JCW and given a choice would opt for a lighter wheel, such as the R99. I have a feeling, however, that 17" wheels, of any sort, will not be "thrown in" with the kit due to the brakes. Rather, getting the JCW factory kit will ALSO require a sport package etc. Unless it's possible to opt for 17" wheels by themselves. The web spokes perhaps...? Not sure if any 17" comes from the factory without a package.

Brutus, Have a Sept build MCS with Chilli Pack (S lights) on order. Was going to get dealer fit JCW kit. Thinking of trading the S lights for R90s or R99s. How much should the dealer allow? Or should I see if I can change order to Bullets? (I have to say, there is something about the look of them that just isn't MINI. Philip

Philip, Is your Sept. build an '06? If so you could have the JCW fitted at the factory instead of by your dealer--basically negates the cost of the brakes/fitting assuming you're opting for the LSD. Not sure how much your dealer would give for your S-lites. My dealer doesn't take them as a trade (I asked). You could check on ebay to see what people are selling their S-lites for and get an idea for a starting point for a dealer trade. I think they charge about $2K to add R99's at my dealer. I guess the extra $ is labor (maybe tires) as R99's are around $1100. Did you mean there's something about the bullets that "aren't MINI"?

I guess this vaguely fits with this thread so... Anybody know if you upgrade your wheels--R99's etc--do you get tires installed on the new wheels IN ADDITION to the tires that come with the car from the factory? Just wondering as the fitting cost seems to be around $1000.
