Reduced Supercharger Pulley - what's involved?

Cooper S Auto is due in Oct, but I want to add a reduced Supercharger Pulley to increase the BHP by about 20 for not a lot of money. Now, my dealer has asked for details of the changes involved so as to determine whether the changes would affect my warranty. Does anyone know, in detail, what changes would be neccesary in addition to the pulley?

As far as I can tell, you may need to change the belt, but is that all?

Thanks.

There's no other changes required ...

You could fit the JCW belt but it's not required. You could get an aftermarket remap for more power, but the stock ECU map will adapt to a 15% pulley.

If your interested in what's involved with swapping the pulleys ...

Cool, I'll be writing to my dealer very shortly, thanks Miniac. By the way, do you know of any other inexpensive BHP upgrades?

The pulley is your biggest bang for the buck, followed by intake/exhaust. There are several intake options out there, I personally run the Alta CAI. But shop around, see what you like. They're all good for a couple of ponies, and should run you in the neighborhood of $200 US. The exhaust options out there (Milltek, Borla, etc) will probably run you about $700 US give or take, and is good for a few ponies. There are a variety of reports on the boards regarding noise and power increases with these options, just do some searching. Enjoy!

I just noticed in your vehicle profile that you have an automatic on the way? If so, that can complicate the intake decision. The Alta CAI with silicone hose at present does not fit the automatics. Its coming though according to Alta. For now, skip the hose and it should fit. I am not sure about the other systems, but I would think any system that reuses the stock hose will be fine, but double check that.

Yeah, I thought the fact that I'm getting an Auto (wife's choice, not mine, she is paying for it) might complicate things, so I will check and double check any mods that I plan to get, depending on what my dealer says is ok.
