Ryephix bypass valve?

I'm curious what exactly this does, I wasn't able to come up with much through searching. Is it a good idea considering I have an '02? And is this one in particular a good piece?

the Ryephix bypass valve does two thing.. one the stock valve doesnt close properly the butterfly isnt adjusted correctly. which allowed some boost not to go to the engine
Second with a heavier return spring than stock the new valve closes sooner and opens later causing you to be on the Charger more giving you more power sooner.

Yes it would. Also depending on the class your in you can do a complete override for the bypass valve which helps with power but lessens your fuel milage. I currently run in SM class and have made the override and readjusted the Butterfly myself so it does seat all the way. Much like what Ryephix does but i didnt add the better spring since i have the override. Also just by changing to Ryephix valve since it is a stock part just adjusted properly it wont take you out of the stock classes

Sorry, but I must disagree with Mugami. The addition of a heavier spring is NOT an allowable mod in SCCA stock class. This would be much the same as doing an internal modification to your engine. Unless the modification is approved by the manufacturer and documented in writing it is not permitted. The only modifications to stock category cars that are allowed are those specifically mentioned in the rules.

well..whenever it is that I do get started, I won't have a stock car, so class will be an issue when it comes time to head out for the first time.. so...all in all, a good idea to buy it if I want the stiffer spring?
