Starting price of £23,000, plus options, plus local taxes....

Could easily be £30,000+.

Not bad considering its a Mini.

It had better be very special.

A 'stipped' MCS Works is going to cost you around £17500. (very few options). add a grand for a CF bonnet. - What else...?

£30,000.........? where do you get that figure from?

€30,000 is ~ £20,000 - add taxes = £23,500 which is about the figure I heard bantered about. Feck the options if I get one it is as is.

No, my understanding was that the Roadster would be in 2009 (if it happens).
From the article, this is a stripped out Mini from the current generation.
I presume that it is too different from a standard Mini (complexity) to run down the Oxford line - Plus BMW seems to be doing Bertone a favour!

Hmmm Everyone is assuming its a light weight tin top?

Could be a light weight soft top?

What is the point of a light weight Cabrio? You strip weight then add it back to give it torsional stiffness.
A lightweight hardtop makes sense as a pure sports car!

With no back seats, maybe they could squeeze in 4 wheel drive? That would make me smile.

1215 kg Cooper S Unladen Weight.
1315 kg Cooper S Unladen Weight.

Its not out of the realms of possibility. If you get rid of the seating bench you could stregthen the chassis in a differant way to the normal Cabrio and not have as much weight.
