Got the press release with teaser pic through my door on Saturday morning - was really excited. Then, came into work this morning and saw the pictures from the front and the back and am a bit dissapointed.

I am not a big fan of the front spoiler, it looks really unfinished - why is the front arch cut off where it meats the front spoiler. It looks very strange.

No rear washwipe or third rear brakelight? The former is a MINI necessity and the later I thought was the law.

Not convinced at the moment, but I could be convinced when I see or drive one in the flesh.
Would be tempted if I had the cash.

Re. missing wiper: guy on MotoringFile says that the wing design, etc., will mean that the backwindow should keep clear/dry. Re. missing high level light: you'd have to racer-tape it to the wing, otherwise you wouldn't see it (apparently)....

The current design makes the rear window dirty, because there is a low pressure area at the rear of the car.

As the new "wing" is supposed to increase the down-force on the rear axle, then all that can happen is to further increase the "depression" behind the car.....which will exacerbate the problem further........

Wobert123, maybe that's why they made all the back windows black to start with, ho ho.
Either way, it's looking CR-P.

Just had a call from my dealer. He confirmed the spec and price as has already been discussed at length in this thread. He wants a £1000 deposit (was £1500 last week) as he feels it's "such an awesome car and will sell out very quickly".....

I was also told there would be 444 available in the UK which means at least one per dealership.

I really wanted one, but what's been offered isnt what I wanted. Just have to go and see Roland and make mine better

on the subjtct of the third brake light, you would get done for not having one but does anyone really think that bmw would produce a road going car without one somewhere?

The official introductory summary Press Release is on MotoringFile now (though we've seen the same description and photos before) and I fear this probably means that what we're seeing is, sadly, what we're getting.....

that is a huge dissapointment!
I thought they would make something "special", but I guess I was wrong. Anyway, I'm sure some people will love it. I think it's a love-hate car type of thing.

Just back from Misano where I witnessed the premiere right at the front, it looks exactly the same as the drawings I found that Sunday afternoon . Although it was nice to be there, I have to say it's a big disappointment.

At the introduction I even spoke with the MINI director about the drawings, he admitted it was a big mistake and intended for press release only.

I voted in the poll. 3rd option. Can't add anything new here, all is said. I'm glad I have two kids and didn't order because it doesn't have a backseat

cant think where the cabrios third light is...but guessing they will use that in markets that require a third light

It's in the sliver trim that runs around the base of all the windows and across the top of the boot lid.

Which is reasonable value I guess. I paid more than that for my standard MCS with all the JCW bits on.....
