Perhaps a more important mod, the no holes front license plate holder is already in the suitcase to go to Monterey. That baby is a must!

Oh, I guess that is an anti-mod?

.jcw CF wing mirrors
.jcw gear knob
.jcw hand brake handle
.jcw strut brace
.jcw seats black
.jcw manifold
.jcw CF boot handle
.halo side lights

and the list gos on
some of these mods i already have on my mcs works so it would be a wast to let them go with the car as they add no really value

I am not planning on doing any changes until I see the car in the flesh. I have a few mods in mind but nothing concrete.

Any thoughts on how mods would affect this sort of relatively rare car? Anyone planning to buy-n-stash their GP's? Or at least keep them low-milage?

Surely they are going to be sought after models....?

I think that its the sort of car that would suit a few subtle mods.. like has been mentioned, CF boot handle, strut brace etc.

Damn Australia not getting GP's .

What I'd do if they came to Australia I want one . When I first saw pictures I couldn't stand it, now I am in love and wish I could get one here.

My mod list would stand as:

- MTH Headers, remove cat (most likely burn it out)
- MTH Tuner/Race map
- GRS Intercooler
- CF Strut brace
- Proper brake ducts
- Slightly smaller pulley
- Whalen knob
- Short shifter
- Better tyres
- Retrofit auto wipers, HK or better sound system (not crazy though, just nice sounding).
- Re-do all the globes to look good.
- Depending on weight of stock sound deadening, perhaps replace with better/lighter stuff
- Replace JCW springs with Eibachs
- Stiffer rear strut brace
- Taillights with clear indicator
- Swap the red foglight lens with a clear one with a clear/red bulb
- Merc C class antenna

If money was no object:

- Rip off the head, proper port and polish (not the stock rubbish), mild cam
- Porsche brake kit
- 17" track rims

Actually on thinking about it I've changed my mind, read my post here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showpost....0&postcount=52

I suppose by subtle I meant things that enhance what is already there.

Why wouldn't you just buy a normal MCS and use the eleventy bajillion dollars you have left over making it even better?

Surely there's something special about owning the GP - wouldn't turning it into a totally different car would sorta detract from that...

Well thats the thing... I don't think it'd be making it into a totally different car, I rekon it'd be making it how it should have been to start with...

I do get your point though

Huh, JCW is just like JCWhitney, there is always a bit that you don't have. Now, while we are at it, how about that JCW leather dash?

Future Mods,

Other Modifications I would like to do, but will likely not so as to keep car original

Tint front windows same as rears
Colour code the wheel arches
Mini Central Armrest maybe
JCW leather clad dash and down tubes with red stitching to match seats
Bonnet grill changed to an aero kit grill

I wouldn't carry out any mods to my GP that weren't easily reversable.

Certainly not, Mini's are for driving. Already planning to drive mine to Venice this October for the Italian Job Run.
