Jim McDowell, the VP of MINIUSA, will be driving a demo GP on MTTS. Fuzzy and I had a chance to meet and question some of the people involved with the Monterey program and MTTS today.

Most questions were answered with "I don't know", but I have an email adx for furthur questions. They did say there is someone high profile picking up a GP. So Charlie, is your last name really Bronson? Or maybe Heston? Or even Sheen? Please tell me it's not Tuna.

The only thing that seemed to really get the MINI USA rep's attention was when I said that if I did not like the car when I finally saw it, it would be on Ebay the next day.

For some reason that statement alarmed them.

But seriously, I am concerned that the MINIUSA people are excited about a celebrity buyer. That means they will be swarming around the high profile person whilst kicking the rest of us to the curb. The person getting all the attention will be the one who was comped for Monterey, not those of us who put up our $2k.

You know me, eternal optimist and Ms Sunshine, but even I am starting to see the dark lining in this silver cloud.

I got my production number this morning and the last 7 digits of my VIN but not the whole VIN.

Anyway, I tried to register on the MINI OL and was re-dorected to the BMW Owner's Circle. I registered and my status is...



At least it's something eh?
