I want 1313.

You are the fourth car for Monterey. Right now, looks like Jim Ray, Chief Charlie and Jimskater, and now you.

Great! Looking forward to meeting you there. How much of the drive back are you going to participate in?

We are blocking off vacation time for the entire drive, but are prepared to break off at any time that it becomes boring. IE, from one dealer to another with a hot dog cookout in the parking lot of each one.

I went in and had a meeting with my MA today about my GP "order". Had been on their unofficial list since November, and had several email exchanges with them last month. The dealer still will not set their GP price, will not confirm Monterey, will not accept a deposit or draw up a contract. I politely pointed out that they were weeks behind other dealers in selling these cars. The MA, at least being honest, said that the dealer was still calling around to see what other dealers were charging before setting a price. I got the feeling that they think if they have the last cars available in the West then they can charge the highest price. I told him that I didn't think that was an appropriate way to deal with customers on their list and walked out. I doubt if this is going to work out.

Good luck.

I think MINI HQ have called back all unsold cars from dealers but haven't decided how to share out what is left!

Make sure you put some presure on him to get you a car.

sucks to see some of the treatment my fellow USA MINIacs are getting. Once finals are over I will be dropping by to see if my MA has any more my GP order -- specifically, GP # and build date.

Seth, my dealer still has one without a deposit. SWA is a nonstop flight.

Duke, tell your dealer to get off the stick. Trust me on this one.

There are deadlines fast approaching & they know it.

If you ask yourself, "How does Jim know that?" The answer is because I'm going to Monterey.

Jim is right, if you want Monterey your dealer needs to get hot.

We're planning on the first five stops peeling off after Amarillo, TX although I agree with the "in case it gets boring" part. I figure we'll just do our own thing if the "event" becomes tedious although when has hanging out with other MINI owners become tedious.

I sent in my application to Monterey and my $2K yesterday as soon as they were accepting submissions. The application said absolutely no submissions before 3 PM eastern time so I think mine went in at 3:01.

I'm making my flight reservations soon as I don't see why it wouldn't work out. I also found out that I got bumped from #6 to #5 when the person in front of me backed out of the order so there's nothing holding me back now. cool:

Yes, our dealer sent the application at 3:00:10

But the big thing is what is your confirmation time? We have confirmation at 3:09, another person we know has 3:16. I think by 4:00 at the latest all the Monterey spots were gone.
