It's not a pretty sight!

You should've seen him earlier when he came to pick it up - tried ever so hard to look like he wasn't bothered, but we all know the truth!!

GP - Ready to Rock 'n Roll

Thanks again for inviting us to your route through the Los Padres National Forest during the Santa Barbara to Las Vegas leg of MINI Takes The States! Every time I watch that video I can remember how much fun it was (and how intense it was to keep the RPM's no more than 4,500 since I had just picked it up at Laguna Seca in Monterey). I'm over 2,700 miles now and totally loving the GP. I'm addicted to the supercharger whine, so I'm only getting 22 MPG (latest gas tank fill-up) but of course we didn't buy these cars for MPG! I look for excuses to go driving now. The boring 65-mile roundtrip commute to work is, a bit less boring. I still enjoy driving my MCS, but the GP is really a superb blend.

The overrun on the exhaust is louder - yes. The brakes are a massive step up from the regular ones on the S - yes. Seats are fantastic - have been looking forward to the thigh support for ages. The GP also teases in the way the whine really starts to kick in at 4,500 rpm, just as you are obliged to change up. Did a couple of hours on the motorway today and mileage is I guess 170, with an indicated range of another 170 to go. The stereo isn't totally useless either.

Lots of head-turning happening too, either from the pure looks, or the exhaust note/pops afterwards. Only downside is that it's going to take me ages to run the thing in as it will be in airport car parks for two weeks out of four over the next couple of months

I have to say not had any waves from other mini drivers when I have been out in the GP but... I have had people pulling over to let me past then flashing, waving and beeping their horns at me Also the other day was driving through a village behind a Beamer and he pulled in then pulled straight out behind me with a camera stuck to his eye! He was filming me for about half a mile whist trying to drive his car Thankfully it was a 30 mph zone.

Driving to Edinburgh on Friday so if anyone sees me please wave.

I also take any excuse to drive now - last weekend a 10 min trip to the supermarket turned into an hours blast around the Surrey countryside - I LOVE this car Number plate should be on its way soon.

Anyone managed to name their GP yet?

ZZZOOOOOOMMMMM

Picked up my GP on Friday afternoon from Vines in Redhill (excellent people) and drove it to my new home near Stockbridge in Hampshire.

I joined The M3 from the M25 at rush hour time and can confirm that the GP is as happy bumper to bumper as it is at ** mph!

Exceeded all expectations. This car is more fun than any Porsche I have owned, It's just sooo capable and sure footed!

The dealer told me to limit the RPM to 4K for the first 500 miles which is no easy task.

Can't wait for 4.5 K rpm, I'm halfway there .... there are some fantastic roads down here folks!!

And those Recaros...... so much more comfortable than my Merc 320 CDI.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT

More soon................

I wonder if this is the same late silver BMW 7 series that greeted me with thumbs up and waves galore from 3 aboard on my maiden voyage ... M3 southbound at about 6.00pm last Friday near to the Working / Lightwater turn off, waved bi bi at A303,,,,,, makes you wonder what else he has in his garage!!!!!!!

(My wife calls mine Daddies Rollerskate BTW)

Saw you on the M3 last Friday too. Burbled like a fool to the Mrs that I'd just seen my first GP, who just sadly shook her head at my enthusiasm. Commute up and down the M3 regularly so will flash from my Golf (company car), if I see you, so don't panic!

Absolutely - I'm only in Winchester, so likes as not our paths will cross.

GP looks absolutely fantastic, btw. The threads speak truth, photo's really don't do it justice!

Tammy's loving the GP,
She's decided to name it " LIL MOJO"
This baby got the MOJO working.
