No not easy, the clips were so tight it took a while to wiggle anything in this weather!!

All done now though!

Any advice about adjusting the beam throw?

Thanks for your help

I have fitted one for your photo!

Will fit the other lamp early next week as I'm of the the Isle of Man for the W/E

BTW the only "side effect" seems that you have to have your headamp control module reprogrammed at MINI for the xenons otherwise the flicker on and off - this only happens when the car is running - it was fine on ign 2!

Mine is booked in for next week for this small modification at a cost of £40

Will let you know more!

Photos to follow in 5!

Thumbs up

Thanks for the eye candy; I love this one

I must say , I admire your determination.......when it was looking highly unlikely or very costly-££££-to get xenons on the GP, you just ignored all the warnings and went ahead anyway!!!

I'm going to follow suit.......I just need to get hold of a pair now in A1 condition

One last question: How are the chrome 'lids'/'flaps' for the washers held in place?

Same as any other ones!

The washer nozzles, mechanism etc are still intact but not connected!

I like fitting stuff everone else says can't or wont or shouldn't be done!

And I LOVE xenons

I will post more pics next week!

Shall I stop bidding on the 2 for sale on E-bay?

I have another source so I can afford to leave them be if your after them!

Okay; Cool i'll definately look into getting them fitted.

Re: eBay: I'm expecting them to go for about £300, I don't have the money to pay for them at the moment.
So continue bidding if you need them, although it was a very nice gesture-thanks.

What's this other source of yours?! Can you get them new?

(It just goes to show MINI- talk out of their backsides half of the time! "major rewiring!" )

The ones I am getting are USED at £200 a pair.

I'd wait untill the project is 100% complete before spending your hard earned!

Should be mid - end of next week!

I may build a resistor pack between now and then to make 'em run without the dealer intervention!

Very nice! Keep us posted. I wonder if this would be the same ("easy to do and works fine both immediately and long-term) for US spec GP's?

If you can't afford the Xenons right now, the Osram H7 Silverstar bulbs are a must try, I had a totally illuminating drive home last night!

A fraction of the cost too (remember to order four, 2 x mainbeam & 2 x dipped beam)!

They make a good improvement

Salocin - good to see that you are getting 'technical' allthough no tools were required, now what about that strut brace

I could depending on interest supply an aftermarket xenon conversion.- In the same way as fitting the genuine ones without auto leveling & washers its not strictly legal but becoming a popular item

would it be that hard to get the washers to operate?
