why ??

BMW/MINI Germany have succesfully completed the fitting of facelift xenons that are fully functional: washers/washer bottle, and automatic levelling, the works (pun intented) to Macmini's Car.

Now it makes a difference wether your car is Right or Left hand drive!

And finally; from what I've heard (on these forums, and from a few dealers) A facelift Xenon retro-fit does not exist/ "no such thing" for a car that originally runs on halogen headlamps....
..................BMW Official Xenon Retro-fit!

Just looking at that PDF makes my wallet scared.

This is the situation as I see it if any of the information is wrong feel free to correct me.

The problem we have in the UK with our MINI dealers is that they really are not knowledgeable at all... the only dealers I have had any kind of luck with is Chris at Derek Woodmans, and also some guys at Vines of Redhill...

I get mixed stories from:

i) We can only do the preface lift xenon conversion
ii) We can only do the preface lift xenon conversion on MINIs <04
iii) Facelift xenon does not exist
iv) Facelift xenon only for LHD cars...

I've given up to be honest...

The problem seems this...

The kit is available for the '04 onwards BUT the fixings for the rear suspension are different for the GP over the normal mini - hence the kit won't fit.

I'd like to know how macmini's rear supension sensor was fitted and to what?

You can say that again!

(before I get a flaming ; yes there are exceptions, unfortunatley for me, my dealer is not one of the exceptions, there aftersales service is pants! )

Thanks Macmini!

We have been looking on BMW MINI Technikforum :: Portal for information on this conversion but there is no information on there from you - correct?

The 'instructions' on how to fit it, are in the PDF posted on MotoringFile/Post 120 of This thread, and as you say is an OEM retro-fit kit.

The point is:

1) Your average MINI owner (i.e Me) aint going to be attempting it!! considering it involes stripping down half your car.
And not even our 'BMW Trained Technicians' here in the UK want to do it.

2) The rear suspension in the GP is different to the Suspension shown in the PDF and it is unknown how the Automatic Levelling Sensor Thingy bobs are attached to the suspension of/in the GP.

The rear suspension on the GP is lifted almost entirely from the R56, so if you look at an R56 with Xenons it will be the same as that fitting
