Better exhaust popping in warmer climates

Even after having the JCW 210 conversion done on my 04 MCS it still did not pop as much as I expected. With the JCW and the ECU remap, there is no difference engine and exhaust wise on a pre- or post facelift model so I tried to find out why mine was not popping enough. It then occurred to me that it may have something to do with the climate control being on all the time. In South Africa where I stay it is generally warm to hot. To create pops the engine needs to spool down quickly when taking your foot of the loud pedal. With the airconditioning compressor running, it acts as a brake which retards the spool down. I have now tried numerous times with the climate control off and on and the popping is definitely louder, more and easier provoked with the system off. It even gives some nice pops when stationary from about 2500 rpm. It would be nice if anyone can confirm my findings.

I have a JCW MCS 05 and had the vehicle for about 5000 miles prior to the JCW conversion being done. Intitally, I thought that the car had 'burbled' more prior to the conversion, but i can assure you that the burbling increased the more the car was driven. I now have over 35k miles on the car and it crackles everytime I change down or deaccelerate. Sounds great... be patient!
