I would definately go for the lightest wheels you can get. The team dynamics or Oz wheels are both very light. In terms of looks they will look fine, and its performance that matters more for the proposed use. As for tyres My toyo Proxes were fine in dry and wet. road and track.
the weight will make a big difference to the handling. Also think about what sort of tracks you'll be driving. something not so hardcore like say the toyo t1r will allow the car to slide out a little when on hte limit. This is more predictable and controllable - (Less spins). something hard core like the r888 is fantastic but its either stuck to the track like glue which its very good at or your heading in what ever direction for the tyre wall. you may wish to try something like the former and build up towards the r888.
I reckon about 3 to 4 track days out of a set of tyres if you are lucky so it won't be long befroe you'll get to try something else anyway.
i found them on NAM the american mini site as one of the vendors on there is selling them so i think they are out defo out in the us not sure about the uk as im considering them for my s if i upgrade the car next month but havent looked at the price yet drop lohen a line as they stock OZ stuff
