Heres a few pics of my Black r105's Fabio, and with a coat of wheel wax they are a doddle to keep clean!
I read on here somewhere about the GP suspension set up being perfect for the car and that a set of coilovers might not even better this?? How true this is i dont know, but if it were to be the case then although 17's are usually better for performance could this be a case for argument???
Richard
Oh yeah its worth adding that these wheels are a little shinier than normal due to the wheel wax i applied!

thanks for the pic Richard. They look but i'm gonna go for the OZ in 17's cause their lighter and they will handle better, plus it'll be cheaper to buy 17in tyres

Thanks for the thread as I will be making the same decision (what wheels and tires for track use only) for my GP later this year.

For "daily driver" duty, I put BBS RV-F (17x7.5 +4mm) in the "Diamond Black" finish (wheels) with Pirelli PZero Nero M&S 215/40/ZR17 tyres. The look is "subdued" and the tyres have much better traction in all settings compared to the stock tyres.

However, for track duty, I'd like to keep the costs down, so I'm thinking of the Team Dynamics set of wheels also (affordable, light, lots of people have great experience with them). If I could do a 16" that would fit an upgraded brake system, I might even consider 16" for the track.

Regarding the (related) comment on coilovers, I'm having a set of AST coilovers installed in March, along with a rear sway bar (I've already installed RDR/Helix adjustable camber plates, plus a GTT strut brace).

Keep us posted on your selection thoughts and experiences!

1) get another set of the GP alloys with a set of high performance(hp) tyres
or
2) get a set of 17in OZ Ultraleggeras in black with a set of hp tyres

I'd like to get GP wheels cause i like to keep the look OEM, i'll be able to bring thre runflat as a spare wheel on track days incase i get a puncture to get me home and i think the most important they should be easy enough to sell on

But i wouldnt mind the OZ either cause they'll be a bit lighter, handle better and 17in tyres will be cheaper but are will preobaly be alot harder to shift.

Price wise they both work out about the same so thats not an issue well apart form new tyres after the track day

What do you reckon? , my heart is leaning towards GP wheels..........

Well since I havent read the thread this might have already been said but the Ultraleggeras not only look great but are really lightweight. So a nice set of them with some very wide tyres will no doubt go well

Makes little sense to buy a set of R105's for a GP, when GP rims would be easier to shift later on, and the quality of the rims is much better. I do have a set of both, and the R105's are rubbish quality.

Also note, that the GP rim is 1.6 kilo's lighter per wheel than the R105.

Think you've made the right decision Fabio in the end. If it was me i'd have a set oz superleggera's painted in the GP's body colour.

i had thought of getting them painted red and getting a stripe above the side skirts, along the lines of a gt3rs

Just paint the lip of the rims red like Tonyt's mock up. Looked ace.

i recently tried a anthracite coloured ultraleggera wheel and tyre against my GP last week it seems to clash with the colour of the car. so i think black is the way!... Fabio i hope you post some pics of your wheels when fitted...
